I´ve got very similar problem. I have hosting with Safe Mode:ON (but I´m using SafeMode Patch), Joomla 1.0.8 and PHP 5.1.2. Yours error is not only. There is other one:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 6291456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 14592 bytes) in /DISK3/WWW/hrablo.name/ma/administrator/modules/mod_pathway.php on line 41
(it´s when I´m going for settings of Simpleboard in plugins)

Do somebody know what´s going on?

my bad

this has to do with me not configuring the software well

I needed to place links in the configure boxes.
these errors are from not having a link to redirect to
so the script justs loops till the memory runs out

Its all a learning experience

Hi,
I have the same problem, but I can't see which configure boxes are set incorrectly. Can you help?

Lars
