email addresses as usernames

email addresses as usernames was created by katwomanofsteele
I would like the opposite of a character limit on usernames... I would like for the usernames to be email addresses. Where can I change the character limit up from 25? Can I do it db side or will that cause data issues?

Not related to this topic. This is about creating usernames in Community Builder using email addresses.

You may want to create a new topic about this or go to the Fireboard page at: www.bestofjoomla.com/component/option,com_fireboard/Itemid,38/

I am also looking to make a change like this. We are bringing in usernames on a site redesign that are longer than 25 characters and need to keep them at their original length. We changed the jos_users table as well, but something else is truncating that field value before insertion to the table. I'll keep looking, but if anyone else has a solution to this that would be great. Thanks!
