I solved my problem with following hint:

go to your ..<your_joomla_instalation>../components/com_profiler/plugin/language/<your language>/<default_language.php>

check if there are blanks or additional lines after

?>

[=last line in your default_language.php/german.php/... file]

If so - delete them!

then the Images will show up correctly!

Hi all,
please don't flame my a$$ but i was searching forums for 2 dayz straight and found no answer.

i tried to remove all the crap from my language file but there was non.

i was looking for the missing tags in the language.php file but there were all there.

if i use the original language (default-english) it works great so the template is ok.

if i use my language file (hebrew.php) it dosn't work.

if i encode my language file (and - default or hebrew) to standart ansi they both work well, if i translate any of them as Unicode - non of them work...

does that mean that i can't install the captch on unicode? not likely i guess...will the 2.0 version will solve this??

i'm going crazy about this... HELP...:

i really think i went over all the posts... sorry if i steal the thread just don't wanna open a new one for same problem...

if all other prerequisites are available (GD and freetype) then captcha 2.0 will solve this problem.

No images bing displayed in frontend or configuration page of backend.

Any ideas?

I found this problem and it was due to the fact that I had index.html residing in the root of my Joomla! directory, which can break captcha.

I use this quite often when I am uploading a site or designing in a semi-live environment as a "holding page" until we go live.

Renamed index.html to oldindex.html and captcha started working again .... might be worth a shot
