I'm trying to install CB_Captcha to stop robots signing up to my site.
So I download the plug and I read that I have to UNZIP the thing and read the README.
So I unzip the thing (I don't see a readme/txt in there)but then I can't upload it through CB plugin manager because it wants to see a zipped file.
So I upload the zipped file anyway - it says its successful but then I get an error, something like: "direct access not allowed".
So what the hell do I do to make this thing work? DO I have to ftp the unzipped files somewhere? Why is there no README?
Why is this so DIFFICULT?
And incidentally, why do the threads on this forum go backwards? That's driving me insane. Is there a setting somewhere where I change the view so I can read the orignal post first THEN the replies?
First, take a deep breath, walk away for a minute and grab a refreshment, then come back... it always helps to have a fresh perspective, at least for me.
The forum parameters are available in your profile to see back or forwards.
As far as your initial problem, please provide full info (see 'include' in my signature).
The information is needed, because different versions work only with different versions. We wouldn't ask if it weren't needed... those of us assisting on the forums do it on our own time to help YOU.
If you want further assistance, we need the requested information. An alternative, if you'd rather not deal with giving out this non-sensitive information is to subscribe to the documentation (which is recommended anyway) and find the answers yourself.
I already explained it pretty clearly and told you the versions.
Thanks for taking the time to help ME but wouldn't it be quicker to just answer the question or even give me a clue or a link or something?
Again:
There is no readme.
I unzipped the download.
The CB plugin uploader area asks for a zip file
It also has other options (look like I would have to ftp files).
cb version: 1.2.1
joomla: 1.5.10
You still haven't given anything but your CB and Joomla versions. The more complete your information, the more complete will be our answers and help to you.
