Or is it possible to have default list that shows users equal to the current users location?
I really need to figure out the full potential of the knew userlist functions
In CB 1.2 RC 2 you can use substitutions in the users-lists backend.
E.g.
cb_location = [cb_location]
in a filtering (simple or advanced) will show only users in same location as the user logged-in.
Obviously that list should not be accessible by guests...

When I search all members for users that match exactly scotland and in the age group of 30 to 35 I recived this notice message before the users were displayed:

Not an issue to worry about, but a good bug catch in joomla 1.0 sef for sure. We will see how to workaround this issue with multi-selectable fields in searches.
Also I was wandering if there is anyway to show no results until the user actually searches for something? Because surly if the default list contains all members and you have a huge site like a dating site then creating a list of every member every time somebody try to search would be a huge drain on server resources? Or does it only load a page of results at a time?
- it loads only one page of results at a time, but depending on the query and your indexes, the query is sub-optimal.
- in Joomla 1.0, if you go to backend edit users-list definition, you will notice 2 urls. Second url is for search-only without initial results displayed
- in Joomla 1.5, create a new menu entry for users-lists, and you will notice the new parameters on the right side, to display only search form for that list
