Bottom of CB Plugin page, check the following:

components/com_comprofiler/plugin/user/ Writeable
components/com_comprofiler/plugin/templates/ Writeable
components/com_comprofiler/plugin/language/ Writeable
media/ Writeable

also under Information->System Info:

Session save path: should have a location

also under Information->Permissions

all should be Writeable.

Great suggestion, there was an unwritable folder.

It didn't solve the problem; however, it does rule out a potential cause.

I have another test site (on another webhost) with Joomla 1.5.7 / CB 1.2 RC3 and this Captcha works fine.

The Joomla 1.5.7 var $session_handler = 'database'. Is there a similar config variable in Joomla 1.0.15? I don't think so!

Just another thought.

Can you enable Joomla SEO URLs successfully? I find that this is a good way to check the settings on both my Joomla install and my server settings.

I quickly setup a Joomla 1.0.15 install with CB 1.2 RC3 and Captcha 2.2.1 and it works OK

Due to impending upgrade to Joomla 1.5.x, we're going to leave this issue unresolved (for now)!

If anyone still subscribed to this topic, so what is the solution?
I have the same problem and I can't find any solution.
