I am running RC2.

I would like to use the presence of a date as a selection criteria.

For instance, a date called "Date Course1 Taken" If it contains a date (Field NOT NULL) then it is selected for a list and sorted on that date.

The problem occurs when a date is accidentally set and needs to be cleared or if the date field marks something that is not permanent and should be cleared (such as having an announcement date).

I would like to avoid having to keep a separate field to indicate "Course 1 Taken" and then a field "Date Course1 Taken" as it is redundant.

In RC2 when use the backend to edit a date on a profile and set it to the blank values at the top of each of the date components, when I save the record I do not get any errors, but if I open the record, the date was not changed to blank.

Am I doing something wrong? If not, can it be made to allow a blank date to be entered to prevent work arounds with multiple fields?
