#56 [PASSWORD] doesn't work when sending password

15 years 5 months ago #76119 by Sept_de_Neuf
Upon registration, if the "Autogenerate random registration password" is set to "yes" [PASSWORD] doesn't show the actual generated password but instead it shows [PASSWORD] in the email sent.

Edit: added task #

Thanks for feedback. Need some more info:

What is the workflow (confirmation, approval) ?

In which email did you put [PASSWORD] ?

A few things to try and report back findings:

Did you try putting it into the other email as well ?
Did you try [DETAILS] ?

Hello Beat,

The workflow is for sending email to new user with system generated password after new registration.

- "Autogenerate random registration password" is set to "yes"
- "Require Admin Approval" is set to "no"
- "Require Email Confirmation" is set to "no"

I've put [PASSWORD] in both emails.

[DETAILS] work fine however I just want the password.

Please don't hesitate to ask if you need more info.

Hi there.

I thought I should chime in here, as I am also experiencing this. In my case:

1. Autogenerate password is set to "no".
2. Require admin approval is set to "no".
3. Require email confirmation is set to "yes".

The [PASSWORD] code is included only in the first registration email sent out to confirm the user's email address.

All other codes, i.e. [USERNAME], [DETAILS], [NAME], work perfectly.

Let me know if you need to know any more details.

As it's confirmed, moving thread to identified issues.

Only workaround for CB 1.2 RC 3 is to use [DETAILS], which contains username and email in additon of password.

We will fix this in next one...
