For main new features, on the homepage here

The upgrade process is similar to CB 1.1 README, however a little different in the details, so you will still need to read the CB 1.2 RC 2 one

To subscribe, and about the doc subscription proposed, please see links and buttons at top of left column on any page of this site.

11 August 2008 today, any progress updates available? I can see 9 identified issues with CB 1.2 RC2 in the forum. I know you don“t give out any new release dates but an update of the progress of solving these issues would be nice for those waiting for the public release...

It will probably be released when all of the identified issues are resolved and no new issues have come in. No need for constant updates.

My philosophy is that if I subscribe to the documentation, it gives the team some food money so they can spend more time working on Community Builder and less time having to do other stuff to make money. Then, I can start building out my site using the RC candidate (which is already very stable) and I can also help identify any remaining bugs.

My philosophy is that a FREE OPEN source project should be free (no subscription) and open source (the code should be available even during development).

Moreover, what is the best ?

A few programmers working as crazy to code the "perfect" apps (which will never be perfect...) ?

OR a whole community of hundreds (thousands ?) of coders looking at the code and proposing fixes to identified bugs ?

To me the answer is quite simple...

And the incapability of the dev team to release a stable version 8 months (!!!) after the Joomla 1.5 release just confirm my opinion.

This "philosophy" is inefficient !

@amejat
i'am new to CB, but i notice this is one of the most downloaded component for Joomla, it has many plugin and third party developers often create bots or components to make compatible bridges within.

Joomla is free open source, did you found it was that fast to dev ? didn't it also needed several versions to get fixed or to be perfect if it ever get completely ?

Is the answer so easy after this ?
