Discount / coupon, another work around idea maybe.

Hi guys

Any updates on coupons with CBSubs?

Been dying for a solution on this since the launch of CBSubs.

Beat has been working rigorously to implement Coupons support. I've not much more info then that. Very likely will be available with next release, but don't hold me to it as I don't know for sure. ;)

Good news. Though i own a license of CBsubs... there is not a final decision from my client to implement it. Currently the whole registration part relies on some javascript and different URL parameters.

The current situation is: There are different prices for members AND all prices have also discounted variants for students/un-employees etc.

There is also a planned subscription part for a special (sub)user group. Those users should have extra profile information and access to a special areas. (this one could be re-alized by another component) But i am thinking of a total switch to CBsubs...

As far as i know, Coupons could be used to give a discount on a subscription plan... but is it useful to my scenario I mentioned above? I am not sure if this Coupons are ideal for a permanent discount for a special group... Is it possible to duplicate a full-price plan... and then attach a permanent discount to it? How to display and access such a plan-URL on register page?
Am i totally wrong here?

Honestly, I don't know the details. It's a surprise project I suppose, but looking at traditional coupon usage it most certainly will allow discounting of subscriptions quit easily. Am also speculating that coupons will have durations, usage counts, etc.. all allowing unlimited of course. So yes you could use it as a reliable means to discount subscriptions. This is all of course speculation as again I don't know much more then yas.

Just to be sure..., in the current release I can´t create any discounts, except for a duplicated plan with a lower price, right?

Correct or by giving the plans an initial price and duration. This would mean first time subscribing to the plan would be discounted then subsequent renewals would be full price.
