That is the confirmation page, the clicking of the link just finalizes it. We've already a feature ticket in place to allow making the payment slip optional which should address your issues and concerns.

I figured out the the Plan>Presentation setting of "Thank-you text (payment pending):" in the offline payment method shows up on the payment slip, but not anywhere else.
Shouldn't this also/rather show up on the screen once the payment slip has been printed, i.e. the previous screen with the "Click here to confirm that you are paying off-line...." should refresh and in its place you could show "Thank-you text (payment pending):"?
