[FIXED]authorize.net auto-recuring: 1st payment 2x

14 years 11 months ago #97880 by lindseycreative
Hi All,

Having issue with Authorize.net and it Charging the customer twice with the Aim transaction then the ARB transaction. I am trying to bill them the AIM then when the subscription is up the ARB kicks in.

Currently set to:
Yes: AIM + ARB: Single payments or Automated Recurring Billing at user's choice for auto recurring plans

Thanks - client is loving it so far!

[EDIT: moved from "maybe a problem?" to "identified issues" and changed subject]

Nice to hear that your client loves it :)

ARB is done immediately same time as AIM but:

- AIM is for first payment
- ARB is timed for 2nd payment onwards, so there shouldn't be a first payment same time than AIM, as ARB is timed and set for a "0" first payment.

You can email me using contact form if you wish to give private infos on your issue (e.g. auth.net payment log).

Hi,

Here is what is happening.

Transaction 1 - is the AIM that happens the day of the order

Transaction 2 - is the ARB and happens the next day.

I will send logs via contact form.

Thanks,

John

I think I have figured this out. I think that Authorize.net is charging the ARB because it does not see an initial validity if your settings are set like below.

When "Pricing and Validity" are set to "always same period price" the "CB Paid Subscriptions: Plans" table displayed "Frist period validity" to:"No initial validity"

I have now set "Pricing and Validity" to:

"Different first period and price for Registration only"

and then populate

First payment price of plan: $15 (Regular Price of Plan)
Initial Validity Duration: 30 days (Regular Validity duration)

I also think authorize.net doesn't like 1 month so I have set it to 30 days.
