Well, I hope it would maintain aspect ratio. Otherwise, I might look 8' tall when I'm only 5'10". :lol:

It already does its best to maintain aspect ratio, but I suppose not enough if it's causing problems for your images. Have you tried uploading multiple sizes images to check the results? All of this will be improved of course when we implement a new image library.
