Stripe gateway setup docs? was created by mikerotec
Hi!  We have numerous customers who bitterly hate Paypal. I get frequent requests for an alternate CC processor!!
I wanted to setup, configure, and test a Stripe payment gateway... but the only CBsubs manual I can find on your site (v 4.1) has zero references to Stripe.

www.joomlapolis.com/documentation/272-cb-paid-subscriptions

We do have a Stripe plugin installed and it appears to be pretty current

Element
cbpaidsubscriptions.stripe
Version
4.6.1+build.2022.05.04.21.19.43.44d0cbdc1

Just would like to have a tutorial on how to set it up...

Thanks!

The configuration instructions are directly in the gateway itself within CBSubs. For example "You can get your Stripe Publishable Key and Secret Key from your Stripe account in API - API keys.". The only additional step here is you need to navigate to the Developer page first (we'll be updating those instructions with next CBSubs Stripe release which am working on now).

OK, walking through the setup, it's looking pretty straightforward.
Only when I get the to the "recommended" WebHooks... there are like 182 values to choose.  (!!!)
Should we "select all"??  Or is there a basic subset that will serve us OK?

Or can we skip the webhooks entirely??  ( It looks like they are important for yearly subscription plans like ours...)

Please advise, we'd like to go live with this ASAP, thanks!

You can just select all. CBSubs will ignore any webhooks we don't process. We however process specifically the following if you want to select only what we actually use, but this may change at any time in the future.

charge.refunded
charge.succeeded
charge.failed
charge.dispute.created
charge.dispute.closed
payment_intent.succeeded
payment_intent.payment_failed
checkout.session.completed
invoice.payment_succeeded
invoice.payment_failed
customer.subscription.deleted
source.chargeable
source.failed

Next release we're dropping tokens/sources as we're updating CBSubs Stripe to latest Stripe API's which supports payment intents for everything so those 2 source webhooks will probably be removed.

CBSubs Stripe has been rewritten and now lists exactly what webhooks we listen to in the admin interface. In addition to this we'll log a notice to CBSubs History Log if an unused webhook comes in so you can adjust your settings accordingly.
