[SOLVED] ProfileBook Link problem was created by mibert
Hi there,

hope you are well.
I am having a problem with the ProfileBook Plugin.
When I click on the link of the Profil Book enty title in the users profile, the link brings me to a new entry and not to the linked one.
https://www.???.de/index.php?option=com_comprofiler&view=pluginclass&plugin=cb.profilebook&action=entry&id=364579&Itemid=455

I have updated all Comprofiler components to the latest version, but the problem persists.

Any idea would be most welcome.

Best regards

Michael

You mean for the ProfileBlog? Check what menu item is associated with your Itemid 455. The Joomla menu item maybe overriding where you navigate to. This seams to work ok on our demo site below.

demo.cbdemosites.com/profiles/pluginclass/cb.profilebook?action=entry&id=3

Hi Krileon,

that was a good hint.
If I call the link without ID, its working perfectly fine.

BUT, CB and its modules are adding this ID to all Blog entries automatically.
So the question is, how can I prevent this.

In fact ID 455 menu is a URL menu item leading to a new blog entry page.

Thanks in advance for your advise.

Best regards

Michael

Not sure I understand. There isn't a menu action behavior for CB ProfileBook. Are you using CB ProfileBook or CB Blogs? What exactly is menu item 455 going to (triple click Link parameter when editing that menu item and copy > paste it in your reply)?

Hi krileon,

thanks for your feedback.
The link under item ID 455 is leading to following URL:

index.php?option=com_comprofiler&view=pluginclass&plugin=cb.profilebook&action=entry&func=new&mode=b&Itemid=447

I have now deactivated this menu item and now the CB links to the profilebook are working well with a different Itemid=2031, which is the CB profile view menu item.

The question is now, how I can include a Menuitem to write a new profilebook entry, without having this problem.

Best regards

Michael

Create an External Link menu item and supply it the following URL.

index.php?option=com_comprofiler&view=pluginclass&plugin=cb.profilebook&action=entry&func=new&mode=b

That should work fine and not conflict with routing behavior. It might just be the extra &Itemid=447 in your URL that's causing this problem. So if that's already an External Link just remove &Itemid=447 and see if that fixes it for you.
