GroupJive ACL for Kunena cat with subcats

7 years 2 months ago #291254 by zabey
Hi.

I make access to Kunena category for group.
Also I try grant access to Kunena subcats for same group.

And it does not work.

How i can make ACL based on Group?

for example:
GroupA have access to:
- cat1
-- subcat1
-- subcat2
...

GroupB have access to:
- cat2
--subcat3
--subcat4

Please see the below video which shows how to configure Kunena for GJ.

You do not create categories in Kunena for GJ beyond the top level category. GJ will create its Kunena categories it self and set their access accordingly. It will not attempt to control access to kunena categories beyond this. So if you manually add custom sub categories it likely won't do anything to control them.

i see this video.

as show test - one group = one category. one group cann't control access to 2 or more categories.

i'll try do it with Auto Action - add user to Joomla group if it add in CB Group.
That is no good, but i don't see how to do this other way

Correct. A GJ Group only creates and manages 1 Kunena category. What you're wanting it to do it does not do. Best I can suggest is create the child categories and set their ACL to public. GJ will at least control the parent category access which should prevent access to the child category.
