CB GroupJive 2.5 RC released!

CB GroupJive 2.5 RC has just been released and is available from the Professional Download area for all Professional and Developer members (as part of their extended membership benefits).

This version fixes all identified bugs and adds many new features boosting groups activity and end user experience:

• increase participation with the new email / private message group activity notifications
• avoid hot-linking and URL sharing to group file/image resources using the new secure downloads
• easily make batch modifications to existing groups and categories
• quickly bring new members on-board with auto-accept group inviting
• manage formal groups online with new disable leaving of group menu parameter
• easily create new Joomla menus for groups
• change colors without cloning templates thanks to the template override file
• automatically add members to groups based on unlimited CB field conditions
• there is now a configuration to keep group related posts made by old (no longer in) group members

CBSubs 1.3 Pre-announcement

CBSubs 1.3 is almost ready for release.

In addition to above new features there are many bug fixes included in CBSubs 1.3, as well as additional support for just released Joomla 2.5.

All existing CBSubs customers should check their license maintenance period and make sure it is still valid. If your license maintenance has expired, you can just add additional years to bridge the gap and bring your maintenance up to date. This way your existing license will work just fine with CBSubs 1.3.

Joomla 2.5 and life-cycle guide

Joomla 2.5 has just been released!

The Community Builder team congratulates the Joomla community for the release of it's latest Long Term Support (LTS) Joomla 2.5.0 package!

New releases are always considered as progress and moving forward. Everyone likes a shining new product and most of our 439,064 members will rush to take this baby for a test-drive.

Looking past the version jump gap from previous Joomla 1.7.3 release (actually Joomla 1.7.4 was just released also) and the hype, the following three questions should most likely be on most people's minds:

1. What's new in Joomla 2.5 ?
2. What will happen to previous versions of Joomla ?
3. How should Community Builder users react ?

Let's tackle these questions and give as much information as possible. This way everyone can make their own educated decisions regarding this release and the way forward for their unique situation.

Community Builder 1.8 b1 and CBSubs 1.3 b1 released!

We have just released Community Builder 1.8 beta 1 and CBSubs 1.3 beta 1 immedeately available for Developer members from the Developer download area. Both packages should not be installed on live websites and should only be used for testing and development staging purposes.

These builds work on all Joomla environments (Joomla 1.0.x, Joomla 1.5.x, Joomla 1.7.x) including the just released Joomla 2.5 RC1 environment. Developer members are encouraged to post feedback on both products in the Developers forum area.
