CB 1.0 RC2 Release Schedule

The wait is over! The CB Team has concluded all internal processes and is now ready to announce the release plan of Community Builder version 1.0 RC2. CB 1.0 RC2, also known as the plugin framework release, combines the deployment of new core features along with the fundamental architectural redesign of a large part of its internal engine in order to enable third party developers to extend its functionality and integrate with other components without compromising its core functionalities and its core code.

As mentioned in our previous online community over at http://www.mambojoe.com/ the CB Team has initially decided to follow the Joomla branch of the Mambo/Joomla CMS (although RC2 has been tested and currently supports Mambo 4.5.0.x, 4.5.1.x and 4.5.2.x). To further support this decision a new website has been designed and deployed. Joomlapolis ( http://www.joomlapolis.com ), the new home of the Community Builder has been built and is ready to support the huge CB community. Mambojoe.com will remain online and inactive/unsupported at least until its huge forum knowledgebase has been transfered to the new environment. Mambojoe, now known as Joomlajoe is still with us - although due to professional and personal reasons he will not be as active as before. The development has continued with Beat and the CB core team, including Nick, Trail and Pete leading to this RC2 release.

As a huge THANK YOU towards the few but brave community members that have donated and contributed supporting the CB Team, we have decided to release RC2 in two phases:

• On Wednesday, November 16th, 2005, RC2 along with full documentation will be released to all recorded contributors/donators. To learn more about the THANK YOU release and process please read this article .
• Ten days following this initial THANK YOU release, RC2 will be made available from our project area over at the Joomla developer site - http://developer.joomla.org/sf/projects/cb
