Parameters (tab)

The Parameters tab has a number of sub-tabs.

This tab has the following parameters:

  • Template:
Is set to Default. Select template to be used for all of CB Blogs. If template is incomplete then missing files will be used from the default template. Template files can be located at the following location: components/com_comprofiler/plugin/user/plug_cbblogs/templates/.
  • Class:
Optionally add a class suffix to surrounding DIV encasing all of CB Blogs.

Blogs (sub tab)

This tab has the following parameters:

  • Model: Choose which content you want to display.
Internal. This model is storing blogs in internal data base tables. That means that you need to create specific categories different from both Joomla and K2.
Joomla. Once selected you can choose to exclude some categories.
K2 Once selected you can choose to exclude some categories. If K2 isn’t installed in your site, you will see a message: ”No matches found”

Tip: When using Joomla or K2 as your storage Model, you can take advantage of different displaying layouts of these components (Joomla cpntent or K2) e.g. Leading article, 2 rows etc.

  • Mode: This determines how blogs are stored and displayed. Choices are Intro&Full, Intro Only, Full Only
  • Categories: Input comma separated list of internal categories. If you delete an existing category its articles will remain until deleted manually. (See at the end on this tutorial “Button Blogs”)
  • Create Access: Access determines who can create blogs. The group selected as well as those above it will have access (e.g. Registered will also be accessible to Author). Moderators are exempt from this configuration.
  • Create Limit: Input number of blogs each individual user is limited to creating. If blank allow unlimited blogs. Moderators are exempt from this configuration.
  • Approval: Enable or disable approval of blogs. Approval requires a moderator to publish a blog before it is made visible. Moderators are exempt from this configuration.
  • Captcha: Enable or disable usage of captcha on blogs. Requires latest CB AntiSpam to be installed and published. Moderators are exempt from this configuration.
  • Auto Delete: Enable or disable automatic deletion of blogs when a user is deleted.

Defaults (sub tab)

This tab has the following parameters:

  • Published:
Select default value for the Published parameter. When a blog is not published its title in users profile is not linkable.
