How to make the email button display all the time

13 years 8 months ago #138839 by Silver007A
Hi all :)

I can only get the email button in profiles to appear when people registered and logged in.

The problem is, how will people know there is an option to email the members profile unless they see an email option?

I would like the button to always be visible and if a non-registered visitor clicks on it to email the profile member they receive a message (popup or bubble) informing them that they have to register first to email members.

Thanks for any guidance.

;) B)

Thank you everyone

Sorry, this is not possible. The email form link will not display or function to public users, but rather to registered only. You could display the users RAW email address to everyone, but more then likely your users will not agree with this. Please also upgrade to CB 1.2.3.

The email field will still show, but the email form won't work. Public users will receive an error informing them to login if the attempt to click the Email Form link. The field should be displayed as follows.

[code:1]
Email: Send Email
[/code:1]

The error they would receive is as follows.

[code:1]
You are not authorized to view this page!

You need to log in.
[/code:1]

The email button on the CB Menu tab won't display for public users however, so you could use the field as indication that they can email users.
