In the Main Menu, the 'active' & 'hover' state for child items aren't set correctly.
Example - using Coolness demo
templates.joomlapolis.com/demo/coolness/j15/
1. 'Joomla! Overview' menu item display style is green with hover in black (no problem).
2. Click on 'Joomla! Overview' - now bold black style as active state (no problem)
3.
But, child menu item 'Whats New in 1.5' is also shown as active state in bold black style. This is wrong, you are looking at the page for 'Joomla Overview', not the 'Whats New in 1.5' page.
4. The style for the 'Whats New in 1.5' child menu item should still be regular display in green with black for hover.
5. Only when you click on 'Whats New in 1.5' should it go to bold black active style and parent item 'Joomla Overview' should revert to regular display in green with black for hover style since you are now looking the 'Whats New in 1.5?' page.
Providing website users the right visual cues for every menu state / style as they navigate a site is critical for good usability so users know exactly where they are and what they can do.
The way this currently works is wrong and very confusing, especially when you have 4 child items for each parent item in the main menu like I do for my website.
I have tried to debug and fix using Firebug, but I can't figure out how to do it.
I would very much appreciate a fix for this problem in Coolness template.
Thanks.
