What is your MySQL version ?

But it could well have to do with a not displayed error, please check our FAQ on blank screens and on memory issues (top link FAQ).

Any errors displayed when turning site debug on ?

MySQL version is MySQL 5.0.77 as shown inside phpMyAdmin.

from within Joomla System Info/ PHP Info:

Client API version 5.0.45

System Information
Setting Value

PHP Built on: Windows NT DANIEL-PC 6.0 build 6002
Database Version: 5.1.36-community-log
Database Collation: latin1_swedish_ci
PHP Version: 5.2.5
Web Server: Apache/2.2.11 (Win32) PHP/5.2.5
Web Server to PHP interface: apache2handler
Joomla! Version: Joomla! 1.5.15 Stable [ Wojmamni Ama Mamni ] 05-November-2009 04:00 GMT
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-GB; rv:1.9.2.2) Gecko/20100316 Firefox/3.6.2 GTB6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

Hmm. System Debug was always on. I put "Display undefined language strings" to 'all modes'. Still don't get anything but the browser waiting...

I just turned on System Log.

I'm not getting blank pages, it actually never goes beyond "waiting for localhost..." in the browser status bar.

In following the memory FAQ, my php.ini file had
[code:1]memory_limit = 128M[/code:1]

and I changed it to be:
[code:1]memory_limit = 33554432[/code:1]

but no effect, still just "waiting for localhost..." with the login screen still showing. :silly:

Please try ONE of the below htaccess memory limit changing methods below (place inside .htaccess).

[code:1]php_value memory_limit 64M[/code:1]
OR
[code:1]RLimitMem 128000000[/code:1]

Noticed you mention localhost, are you attempting to run Joomla/CB/CBSubs locally? If so what server package are you using? Also if is locally please upgrade PHP from 5.2.5 to at least 5.2.10 (not 5.3).

php_value memory_limit 64M

has no effects that I can see.

RLimitMem 128000000

doesn't do anything either except make my apache log file say "
[Fri Apr 02 00:15:17 2010] [error] RLimitMEM not supported on this platform" dozens of times. These were each added separately to .htaccess and tried.

I'm trying to get PHP 2.5.10 working on WAMP but it keeps crashing Apache server... will take another look tomorrow.

I recommend Wampserver 2 if intended for local use so you may dynamically swap PHP releases as necessary. Are you experiencing the same issues on a live host?
