Cannot SAVE new user in backend User Management

13 years 8 months ago #139697 by pkl123
I have the same problem. When I try to save changes to a user, nothing happens.

Firebug gives me this info when I load the user:

[code:1]Unknown property 'border-radius'. Declaration dropped.
border-radius: 16px;
template.css (line 118

Unknown property 'border-radius'. Declaration dropped.
border-radius: 16px;
template.css (line 140)[/code:1]

And this when I try to save the changes:

[code:1]me.gid is undefined
iserror=1;
index.php (line 304)[/code:1]

Any ideas? I am relatively new to this.

Please install CB 1.2.3 and confirm if issue is still present. If still not resolved please disable CB plugins 1 by 1 until resolved as you've likely a 3rd party plugin conflicting causing a fatal JS error.

Thanks. I believe the problem happened after I upgraded to 1.2.3 yesterday. Joomla is updated as well (1.5.20).

There were no problems/error messages when I install CB, and I did follow the instructions. I have used the CB db tools, and everything looks good there.

I disabled all the plugins (CB and all other plugins), cleared the Joomla cache (site/admin), and even tried a new/different browser, but still no response when I try to save changes in CB.

I have also tried different admin templates, but the problem persists across browsers.

Here are the JavaScript errors:

Btw: I can set up an admin account if you'd like to take a look.

Update: I downgraded to CB 1.2.2 and still the same problem.

Don't believe your issue is with CB, but rather a conflict of some sort. Please PM backend Joomla login credentials and will take a look when time permits.

Have reviewed your installation and it is simply too heavily altered. You've way too many extensions to debug and find the culprit. You've also custom ACL usergroups which are not supported (this is stated numerous times all over the forums). The usertype field isn't even presented when editing or creating a user either, which isn't good as this field is required and should be displayed when editing or creating a user. This is possibly due to the alterations to your installation.

Please create a fresh installation in a sub-domain or sub-folder or just Joomla + CB and confirm if issue persists. If it works fine then something is wrong with your existing installation. If it doesn't work then there's potentially a bug in CB or an issue with your host.

Thanks. This gave me an opportunity to clean up extensions, although I found the solution elsewhere.

I had read through a good number of posts on this issue, tried the different suggestions, and none worked, until I continued reading and found this thread: www.joomlapolis.com/component/option,com_joomlaboard/Itemid,38/func,view/id,76205/catid,58/

I needed to publish the params field in the field manager (already done), and also publish the forum tab this field belonged to. And then, for some, mysterious reason, the save button worked again.

Since I don't need a forum, I set it accessible only to super administrators.

Btw: Is this a bug? The thread with the answer was from 2008.
