[SOLVED] Need help with Registration was created by amity
I wanted a registration page with email, first-name, last-name, tel-no and city
i want to use email as username...but joomla is taking names as the default username. I have followed every instructions regarding this problem posted on the forum but am still not able to get it. I get an "username/password already exists" error message.
Is it possible to update the username database field automatically with email details specified by the user during the registration?
If yes can you please help me with it?

You can not remove username, please add it back to registration. I recommend calling it "Nickname" or something of the sort. Username is critical to CB and Joomlas core, no workaround for this.
You could use document subscriber incubator project CB Fields to populate the username field with the email field via substitution [email] during registration, this should give you the results you're wanting.
