JEvents has typically worked fine with CB. Don't know for sure if that's still the case, but it's free so I recommend giving it a try to see how well they work together.

just an update.
jEvent totally screwed up the ACL. Users can't login after installing it.

We're not the developers of JEvents so I've no clue what it does or does not do on install. I don't see why it'd touch ACL to begin with, but you'll need to contact them regarding that.
