[SOLVED] PMS internal - wrong characters in Cyrillic was created by ciklon
Hello,

When using the internal Private Messaging System in CB 2.3.0, messages written in Cyrillic are displayed only characters
"?" instead of Cyrillic.

How can I fix this problem with character encoding?

- Joomla 3.9.1
- Community Builder 2.3.0+build.2018.11.26.18.02.53.89a6e2ebd
- PHP Version 7.0.33-0
- Database Version 5.5.5-10.1.37-MariaDB-0

Default database collation is probably set wrong and the table didn't create with UTF8 encoding. Within _comprofiler_plugin_messages ensure the collation for message column is correctly set to utf8mb4_unicode_ci.

Thanks @krileon, indeed, the collation of _comprofiler_plugin_messages was different from collation of database . I changed the collation from latin1 to utf8mb4_unicode_ci and now everything is ok. The issue is solved.
