[SOLVED] After upgrade to GJ, front end no longer functions

I finally got my components and plugins up to date, thanks to the help in this thread . Now my problem is that none of the GroupJive front-end is working.

When going to URL /groups I get "no groups available". There is a green button to create a "New Group". Clicking on that button does nothing (to the UI view), except that it changes the URL to:
/groups/groups/new?return=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5mc2Vjb25vbXkubmV0L2dyb3Vwcy8=
If I click the "New" button again, I get some more text added on to the URL:
/groups/groups/new?return=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5mc2Vjb25vbXkubmV0L2dyb3Vwcy9ncm91cHMvbmV3P3JldHVybj1hSFIwY0RvdkwzZDNkeTVtYzJWamIyNXZiWGt1Ym1WMEwyZHliM1Z3Y3k4PQ==
... but, again, with no change to the UI. Clicking the button again continues to add more characters to the URL. Rinse and repeat.

If I go to my user profile and click the GROUPS tab, I see the groups that I have previously joined. However, none of the links work. Can't go to the group, can't edit the ones I own, etc. The link hotspots are all there, though.

Not sure if there is an audit I can run to provide system details for additional troubleshooting or not?

Edit: Based on some other troubleshooting going on in the Kunena forums for some Kunena problems, I realized that my server's PHP is still on 5.x. I know that J4 will have a mandatory minimum of PHP 7.2. Are there any current CB items that will not work on the 5.x version?

Is this going to prevent GJ from working? I know my server host has the PHP upgrade on the to-do list. Until then.... <shrug>

Just looks like a SEF routing issue. Edit your Joomla menu items to GJ and ensure their menu type is correctly set to Community Builder > Plugin with Plugin set to CB GroupJive; if they aren't correct them and if they are resave them to be sure it generated the URL correctly.
