HTML in Registration Emails Not Working

HTML in Registration Emails Not Working was created by sonservant
Hello,
I attempted to customize the Welcome email using HTML and none of it is parsed, the tags are sent in the email as part of the text.
How can I get this to work?

Also, I just tried customizing the AutoWelcome Plugin for the Welcome email and it doesn't accept HTML either.

Welcome, Pending, and AutoWelcome emails do not permit HTML. This can be accomplished with some core edits. For future reference please search before posting; we've upgraded to latest Kunena providing a much much more powerful searching.

Thanks for the link.
I DID search but your search function isn't very helpful or accurate. Search for "HTML email" or ""html email" "community builder" notification email" and see what pops up. All I was able to find were a few threads that were a few years old without any resolution.
I've had a little more luck Googling but still wasn't able to find the link you forwarded :(
Any tips you can provide about using your search would be greatly appreciated.

Just gave the core edit a go and still not working with the AutoWelcome plugin. I'm going to try the Registration Tab option again and see what happens.
