Sorry for the dumb question. How to patch the file? Do I have to add/insert those green highlighted lines?

EDIT: Also have problems with Avatar display. In the past i used the simple [avatar] to display the bigger picture. It gave me the simple field value and used it this way to create my image:
<div id="foto"><img src="images/comprofiler/[avatar]" /></div>

Now i am getting the whole URL to the THUMB ?!

[cb:userdata field="avatar" reason="list" /]
gives the same result.

[cb:userfield field="avatar" reason="list" /]
Displays the THUMB image.

I am confused.

Sorry, I can't advise you on patches. If you're not familiar with their usage then you should not apply them. Best approach if unfamiliar with them is to open the patch (just click it in forge) and manually apply the changes.

[cb:userdata field="avatar" reason="list" /]
gives the same result.

[cb:userfield field="avatar" reason="list" /]
Displays the THUMB image.

Working as intended; the reason needs to be "profile" for the fullsize image.

patching:
I was talking about the manual approach. But anyway, there is no general hint about the .patch file format... i am sure, I would not have asked, if there would be a common hint or a wiki... how to deal with such a file. I guess, i am firm in manual modds with many different filetypes etc. just a little tiny help link would make a big difference. (Side-effect: People like me won´t bother you ;-) )

PS: I think i figured out the manual approach.

Avatar:
I see, but that does not explain why my example image link did work in CB 1.2.+
[avatar] did just output the filename !?! I used it with ContentBot in an article. The article is a membership-card with a photo.

reason= parameter:
Thanks for this valuable information. I tried to read everything about Substitutions and I visited your Tutorial page 1000 times ;-) But the parameter "reason" is not listed, nor explained!? How should we know how to use it? Did I miss something?

Google search regarding patching will turn up thousands of tutorials. Quick approach (if using windows) is to download and install "WinMerge" to apply patches (we always prepare patches from Joomla root, so apply it there). I use Netbeans IDE (free open source) and also generate my patches from it so it can also be used to apply them. :)

Manual approach is reviewing the patch (file location is given above the changes) and applying the code changes manually (code lines provided in the patch display). Unfortunately there's not much more I can advise regarding this.

I see, was able to duplicate and have created a bug ticket as follows. The [avatar] should still return the full path, but userdata substitutions should be able to specify a reason to change the output which currently doesn't work.

"userdata" usage is currently bugged and doesn't accept $reason. Please see above forge ticket.

As I said before, the patch is working for the Profile page title but now I'm having the same issue with delimiter fields.

[cb:if FIELD_NAME="value"]test[/cb:if]

Integer and text are the only two field types I found that work.
