I can see that I might be an annoyance so I will read more.

Like Nick said, create a Tab and publish it. Create a field, assign it to the Tab, and publish it. Then go in and edit your profile and add something to the field and it should show up just fine. If not then something is wrong with your setup / install, might try reloading CB.

i'm completely confused.

where are the tabs/plug in suppose to show up? i see the tab, field, etc management in the comp area in the admin side, but where should i see everything?

the only manual i saw was the mambo CB v1.0 rc1. althought i'm using joomla and rc2 will this manual still be useful to me?

I think you are confused about the same thing I was.

At first I thought I would go in and make a new tab that would show up on the main profile page. Like the blog, forum, connections, personal info and so on. So I start the process and find out how to make tabs in other places. Now I know that those front page profile tabs are there because the plug in is installed. I'm still learning the process. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I broke my site messing around with ftp so I can't go check this out.

If go to plugin manager and unpublish a plugin I think the tab for that plugin will vanish.

From a noobs point of view we see tabs and want to make tabs. We find the tab manager and make tabs.

I published a couple of plugins and one showed up as a tab on the main profile page. A few others did not. I'm guessing the ones that did not show up do not have the actual plugin installed. The plugin manager lists stuff that is supported and that doesn't mean that the actual plugin is installed.

Though I am a novice but still give it a try.

After you publich the tabs , Then login as a user in front end.
Click on my profile link, then Edit and finally Update Your Profile.

Update your data and click Update button below.

Noe that tab is visible or should be.

i'm where you are. got some tabs to show, but some did not although they are all published.

now i need to figure out how to find out if they are really pugged in or not
