Importing Disabled contacts

Importing Disabled contacts was created by WebbyWendy
I have a group of contacts that do not want their info on the website, but I want ONE database. I would like to import this group in Disabled mode so that I can find them in the back end, but their info is not displayed anywhere in the front end.

I don't know what field name to add to my csv file and what value to put in the column.

Can anyone help?

Thank you.

Add the variable "block" and use a value of 1. That should do the trick.

You make me rather proud of myself, because I have tried that from viewing the source and examining the code. It didn't work so i gave up thinking I was barking up the wrong tree. I will check my csv and try it again since you confirm that I am on the right track.

Thank you!

I have tried "block" with Yes then No, then I tried "enabled" with 1. LOL. Thank you for getting me straightened out.

note setting block is equivalent to clearing the enabled field in the user interface
