It's used in the invite URL to accept the Group invite.

Sorry for the question but maybe I can take advantage, i dont know...

my site is a kind of birthday organizer and let users send invitations to others.

So im really interested in every possibility.

My above reply is the only purpose it has. I've no idea what you intend to use it for, but I guess you could try using it for something else as GJ is riddled with triggers that can be acted on using CB Auto Actions or custom CB plugins.
