Integrating MailChimp

I've been looking for a replacement for AcyMailing because their new pricing exceeds my budget for my clients who use it.

MailChimp seems like an excellent solution for them because most have far fewer than 2,000 subscribers and they don't send a lot of emails each month.

But the three major Joomla extensions seem a little shaky in terms of reviews and support. At least one of them supports CB Registrations so that MailChimp is appended with linked fields.

Is there any interest among CB users (and the dev team) to add a robust integration with the MailChimp API so that CB users can manage subscriptions from within their CB profile management?

Any comments or suggestions on this subject are welcome.

Thank you,
Ernie

Best I can suggest is try to use CB Auto Actions to integrate with it. You can act on the after user update trigger with a Code or Query action to subscribe them to MailChimp newsletters based off the values of checkbox fields for example. Only downside is having to manually specify the checkbox fields, but a single multi-checkbox field with all the newsletters added to it should be sufficient then simply use the Contains operator to see if they subscribed to a specific newsletter.

Not at this time, no.

That's a bummer because I'm testing two Mailchimp integrations - one of which claims to integrate with Community Builder fields - and neither one of them are very well supported, and I can't get either of them to work.

I hope that there is some interest in the near future. The reason this has become an issue for me is because of AcyMailings new licensing pricing, which has priced me out of being able to continue to use them. They used to allow unlimited accounts for developer-level registration, but now limit it to 5 sites, so my cost would go up 6x - more than any of my clients could ever afford to pay (in addition to all the other third-party licenses I maintain for them).

If anything changes, or if someone else becomes interested in creating a nice Mailchimp integration, I'd very much appreciate it.

Thank you,
Ernie

The 5 site limit for AcyMailing is strictly for Support, Web-CRON (they ping your site for you instead you setting up CRON), and Automatic Updates (don't recommend anyway as you've no idea what a update might change on you). This means you can buy Essential or Enterprise edition and use it on as many sites as you want but be prepared to handle support like problems your self if an issue shows up on 1 of the sites not under the license.
