Install Failure was created by stevenstevensteven
Trying to install CBuilder1_0_2_unzip1st.zip onto Joomla! Stable version 1.0.12 and I am receiving the following errors:

1. ERROR: Could not find an XML setup file in the package.

2. Installation file not found:
/home/c1candid/public_html/media/install_46491b541a13c/CBuilder1_0_2unzip1st/

Suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Did you unzip that install file first? That's not the file that you use to install the com. The install file for the com is comprofiler.zip. Then there are the cblogin, mod_comprofilermoderator & mod_comprofileronline mods to install in there as well.

You have to unzip the file you are trying to install first. Then install the file "comprofiler.zip" as a component, "cblogin.zip" as a module, "mod_comprofileronline.zip" as a module then "mod_comprofilermoderator.zip" as a module. The open the readme.txt file and read it.

PS. From what i gather, if your host server (mine runs phpmyadmin) runs PHP in "safe mode" it won't work. They say "even if the requirements for you application need safe_mode disabled, our implementation of PHP will allow for safe_mode scripts to work with safe_mode enabled. Balony!

Also of noting is that if registered_globals is not enabled that scrpts that require it will not run properly.

The reasons for this they say are due to security.

I am not sure where i am headed with this as i am still searching for documentation on looking for solutions for this error:

"Upload mambot - Upload Failed
ERROR: Could not find an XML setup file in the package.
[ Continue ... ]
Upload mambot - Failed
Installation file not found:
/hsphere/local/home/someone/blahblahblah.com/joomla/media/install_465a3e658ed89/
[ Continue ... ]"

I think if we could reference the error message in the forum with suggestions we might be able to solve this problem a little easier. I am off the the manual upload to see what happens.......... whew!
