forcing confirm of a user?

After the user registers, our "prospective member" coordinator, calls her to confirm she is eligible to be a member, then approves (or declines) her from the "workflow" module. We do not require email confirmation.

She is allowed 3 months full access to the site, and then is notified that she must become a member or be deactivated.

The "Pm" coordinator logs into the back-end joomla administration, goes to the CB component, and does a search on the user, then disables her by clicking on the green check in the "enabled" column.

After the member coordinator receives the check, she logs into the joomla administration, goes to the CB Componenet, searches for the user, opens the user, changes her to enabled using the drop down box next to "block user," changes her member type to "member" using a custom cb field, also indicates her paid date using another custom cb field. After she saves the information, and the screen goes back to the user list, the user now has a red x in the "confirmed" column. If the user is opened and the "confirmed" drop-down box is changed, then saved, it is not sticking. I had to confirm the most recent person by going into the database.

I am still having this problem. It is not consistently reproducible but the following steps produced the problem on two (out of two) new users this morning:

1. User signs up
2. User receives confirmation email
3. User clicks on link to confirm email address
4. User's status in CB user manager shown as confirmed
5. User pays offline
6. Admin approves user using CB workflow module
7. User receives approval email and is able to log in
8. Admin goes into CB user manager
9. Admin opens user in user manager
10. Admin changes any value, or indeed changes no value
11. Admin saves user
12. User's status now shown as unconfirmed
13. Admin opens user in user manager
14. Admin changes 'confirmed' to 'yes'
15. Admin saves user
16. User's status still shown as unconfirmed.
17. User now unable to log in.

Trying similar steps with existing users unfortunately does not reproduce the problem. However, one of the users had logged in for the first time, so it does not seem to be as simple as users who have never logged in.

DB checker shows no problems.

My environment:
Joomla! Version: Joomla! 1.0.12 Stable [ Sunfire ] 25 December 2006 01:00 UTC
Database Version: mysql 4.1.21-standard
PHP Version: 4.4.2
CB version: 1.0.2
CB Registration settings:
Allow User Registration - same as global
Reguire Admin approval - yes
Require Email confirmation - yes
Moderator groups - Manager
Moderator approve users - yes
Send moderator emails - yes

Any other settings you need/would be useful?

Many thanks

Jonathan

Hi

When I confirm a user manually in CB it removes them from the shopper permissions in Virtuemart... any ideas?

If I turn off email confirmation entirely its fine...

Its only when i confirm in CB they were in that shopper group but then get removed?

What actions does CB take when confirming an email address?

thanks
