if you use the yanc plugin, in the backend when you add a newsletter EVEN ITS NOT published, it will still show in the frontend update profile.

on the backend, you go:

components -> yanc -> manage newsletters

add a new newsletter and be sure its UNPUBLISHED. see screenshot below:



in the front end, go to edit your profile or with this URL:

index.php?option=com_comprofiler&Itemid=1&task=userDetails

go to the YANC tab and you will see the newsletters EVEN THOUGH its NOT published in YANC. please see below for visual/screenshot:



i think its in the yanc plugin that there is NO filter in the code which checks the db if the table of yanc newsletter is published or not. which is why i do think this is a BUG more than a usability issue.

any idea what function should i modify to check publish or unpublished filter in yanc.php(plugin)??

just had a look at it..

tested it out with YaNC 1.5 beta 3 on a CB 1.1. site, but it's working correctly there..

can you see if updating to CB 1.1. fixes it?
also, make sure you download the latest YaNC updates (Click YaNC in Components, then choose "Check for updates")
