I want to know about the outcome of this issue too.
I am having the same problem with CB 1.1.
Even after disabling recaptcha (and sure enough, no captcha is seen), after submitting the "lost password" form a pop up says "invalid security code".
NOTE: I have this issue only with the "forgot password" and not registration. My registration works perfectly.
