The current version has not yet been released but is available to documentation subscribers early.

Yes, but since it doesn't provide compatibility with Joomla 1.5 or CB 1.2.1, imho the subscription is well worth the price in order to bypass the time and frustration of compatibility issues of older versions (not to mention additional features available in the newer version).
