Hello
I am new to mambo have never installed mambo. However I would like to install cb1.0 on to my home pc to design a community website and test it before uploadiing.

I have so far done the following
downloaded the core package unzipped it in htdocs in apache
I have used the installation guide given on this site
I get four unzipped files and one read me file

I do not get Administration panel for components -> Install/uninstall
I go ahead to unzip the four files and still do not get it

is there anything else I should do before unzipping this package

where can I get an idiots guide to install this package

Have you considered using Joomla ? If so I would highly recommend to test on your home pc using :

jsas.joomlasolutions.com/
