I am in the same boat as you, john1000. Everything on our church site was working absolutely fine prior to upgrading the Joomla CMS to 1.0.13, and I did not install any new plug-ins, languages, etc. Unfortunately, I am not someone who can help de-bug this. Anyone else out there?

well i know a bit more now.
as i was accepted as a test person by nant on the new captcha i can say that my captcha is working again..

but it needs some closer look at one particular point which was mentioned by nant also...

what you can do is contact nant and ask if you cant join as a test person....
nant can explain to you how you can help with testing...

I can confirm this issue, I have the same problem (Joomla 1.0.12, CB 1.1, Captcha 1.0). I can see the text field which requires the code, but I can't see the image. I also have Security Images (created by Walter Cedric) and it works. GD and Freetype is enabled on my system.
