the hash is correct.

My session directory has been a mess, so I cleared it. Still can;t login the backend.

How do I turn on error reporting? debug mode in global config?

Yes use the global configuration to enable error reporting and set it to the highest level.

Choose "maximum".


I guess you are wrong because all I know are security levels. leave this to level3.

what should it read in the configuration.php file? I can;t log into the backend.

I turned on debug and all it says now is "0 queries executed" on every page.

what are we looking for here? the debug/error reporting doesn't seem to display anything on the backend login screen. Since I can't get past it, I get no debug info.
