beginner problem with captcha

beginner problem with captcha was created by stepson
i have a problem :
in the CB plugin management captcha is locked (checked out).
how to unlock it ?
I tried to patch the cb.session.php to remove the "&" in line 41 but i have now a situation that is worse than before.
at first, i had just the image missing, but i was able to see the registration page.
now i don't see anything, just the message "Session write error!"

i went in the mysql database and changed checked_out field to 0 for the captcha record in
jos_comprofiler_plugin table.
in fact as i have the "session write error!" problem (even if i patched the line 41 of cb.session.php like suggested in others post), i lock captach everytime i try to go in the admin of the plugin.
i unpublished captcha for now.
i'll wait a working version.

Locking means you have checked-out something that needs to be checked in.
In other words, when you are viewing plugin parameters, you should leave this area by clicking on the cancel icon.
If you leave in any other way, you get a locked plugin.
To unlock, you can just do a global Joomla check-in call.
Regarding session problem, beat has posted known issue and fix or you can wait for next RC (currently in testing).
