The Subscriptions plugin will be very useful for setting up user permissions at the time of registration. Such ACL functionality has been sorely lacking with Joomla. I'm curious, will it be possible to limit access to specific functions via PHP? For example, if I want to limit displaying a bit of code to a user subscripition level would it be possible to do something like this:

[code:1]<?php $user=& $config->getUser();
if ($user->cb_subscription == "Gold Member" ) {
echo "Show me the goodies";
} ?>[/code:1]

This would provide very granular control for ACL. Looking forward to the RC.

The dev team does a great and outstanding job with pushing CB1.2 and subscription in parallel.

the early versions of paidsub shown an amazing potential of possibility´s to give access related to a subscription plan.

Related to the fantastic feature set, the effort for developing testing bugfixing testing developing loop is amazing too

I´m sure that we all give standing ovation when it will be released. Untill then, we have to waiit paitently:whistle:

I already have CB1.2 RC up and running on a site and it is fantastic. I've looked into JACL, but it lacks the ability to set user permission level during registration. Also, checked out Mambocharge which isn't that great and has a commercial license.

I have two projects where CB subs would help bring in more income by offering premium subscriptions at the time of registration. The first one I started developing over a year ago but haven't launched yet.

Very excited that this is going to be available and glad that I will be able to give more back to the community that has helped me build the websites I've been working on

This was just an idea for an example of possibly using the ACL system with CB subscriptions with code snippets.

It is made up and won't work, so please don't use it on your site unless you want, "Show me the goodies" showing up all over the place along with error warnings
