Could anyone help me on this issue.

I have intalled CB Invite plugin and everything was done smoothly.

The link appeared on the front end and when I go the first invitation out as soon as I clicked on send i got the following

Invite a Friend

Fatal error: Call to undefined function josisvalidemail() in /home/inaossi1/public_html/components/com_comprofiler_invite/comprofiler_invite.php on line 101

I am a newby with Joomla and not too much knowledge of programming.

Are you running Joomla 1.0 or 1.5x? CB invite is a much desired plugin for 1.5x and (someone correct me if I'm wrong)is not compatible with 1.5x even in legacy mode.

I am using Joomla 1.0.13
And from what I read in the Joomla Extensions it should of been OK.

Since it seems you are using the version combinations that should work, then it would seem it is an issue with the CB Invite plugin. It's a 3rd party plugin and posting in their forum may get you the answers you are looking for.
