I wonder if I could search users by their fileds. The default user serach in user manager only can search users by their username or name. How should I do if I want to search by filed?

Not possible. Core modifications would need to take place to search by field value as well.

Can you point out the function's name that handles the search in the User Manager ? I don't want to have a dynamically adjusted search function that will be able to search into newly added fields or so. No, i will settle with it being able to search into a particular (probably 2-3) field(s) that i will define. I am still working on this. In the end if nothing works i will probably end up creating a new search function to search in those required fields. It might be easy to start from scratch than to try modifying someones work.

This is also something that I need. I have a commercial client who has invested in CB Subs and they often get enquiries based on company names.

We have a field for company name but I need to know which file needs tweaking to include that field for checking in the user management search filter.

I think this will become an essential as CB Subs becomes more prolific on the web.
