I am currently using V 1.2 RC4 and I have noticed that for the last few days someone is registering on our web site without entering any of the mandatory fields, I tried to register that way and I am unable to do it. The administrator gets the message that a user has registered, the user shows under user management not enabled, not confirmed and not approved. I assume that that person is trying to our web site using the front end registration as the administrator gets the email, but how does it gets registered if none of the mandatory fields are entered?

Upgrade from obsolete RC4 to stable which has all known bugs fixed.

Jamie, I am in the process of upgrading to the latest 1.2 stable release but base on the information on the download site php needs to be to at least version 5.0 but my site is still using php version 4.4.9. I have requested my hosting company to move me to different servers with php above 5 but at the moment I need to backup content and database so they can proceed, then I will have to restore content and database to the new site.

It's hard to answer until you're upgraded, because this may be a resolved issue already with the stable version. Otherwise, more investigation may be needed to find how the fields are being bypassed.

Jamie, I finally upgraded our web site to the latest CB 1.2 stable after having our hosting company upgrade our web site to a new block of servers with PHP > 5.0. We are still getting someone registering to our web site without entering any of the mandataory fields, it seems this person does this about every two days and it is always a different name with a fake email address. We get the email indicating that that person has registered and when we go to the CB User management the user is there so I assume the user is getting thru the regular CB extensions, maybe a program doing it, so how is it bypassing the required fields?

Before I get too excited, are the required fields your referring to enabled for registration? If they aren't, they wouldn't be filled in until the user signs in for the first time and tries to update their profile.
