Try:
[code:1]
$cbUser =& CBuser::getInstance( USERID GOES HERE );
[/code:1]

Also add the following after the includes to see if it'll resolve your issue:
[code:1]
cbimport( 'cb.tabs' );
[/code:1]

Thanks, that worked!

Actually all I needed was the additional cbimport line.

I did go back and change the "$cbUser =" to "$cbUser =&" anyhow though, as you suggested.
