no acess to edit profile in frontend was created by Kolibri
Hi,

I had a stable installation with

Joomla 1.5.10 (.htaccess and SEO)
CB 1.2
FCK Editor 2.6.3.9.b
IE 7.0

until yesterday. I tried some changes in FCK Editor 2.6.3.9.b (Frontend Toolbar mode) and in the CB Configuration (Pictures/Allow Upload)

Now ist is impossible for users to edit their profile in frontend. Follwing "Windows Internet Explorer" message appears:

"Windows Internet Explorer"
Die Internetseite "www.domain.de/profil-aendern" kann nicht geöffnet werden.
Vorgang abgebrochen

in english:
"Windows Internet Explorer"
The Website "www.domain.de/profil-aendern" cannot be opened. Action cancelled.

Any ideas?

It sounds as if your changes affected the editor access. Refer to their forum, tutorials or documentation for proper changes to enable images. The FCK developer may also be able to assist if you're still having problems. I'm sure yours is not the first issue of this kind.

Thank you for answering.

Meanwhile I deinstalled FCKEDITOR and tried TinyMCE - same failure message. Then I installed FCKEDITOR again with no effect on the failure message.
I posted the problem now on FCK-forum, waiting for answer.

A screenshot of the failure message is attached, without SEO to see the Path.

Just a quick check too... You are using PHP 5, have set a menu link for profiles (mandatory!) and set the menu item and profiles to public (even if in a user menu set to registered).

"using PHP 5 ?" = yes

"have set a menu link for profiles (mandatory!) and set the menu item and profiles to public (even if in a user menu set to registered) ?" = no, I used "User Profile Edit"

Now I deleted the menu item "User Profile Edit" and made a new one using "User Profile Mandatory". The effect is that there is now no failure message but also no editing view. I see the profile only.
When I changed the menu item again to "User Profile Edit" the failure message occured again.

You have to have the mandatory public menu link enabled, even if it is in a hidden menu. You can also have the Edit link in a visible menu.
