New Fields - Translations

New Fields - Translations was created by IrwinFletcher
When I add a new field to the sign up process does it automatically get added to the english.php (in this case I am using English as default)? Then do I just go to each additional language and add the translations for the additional fields?

Can's seem to find the fields in English for the fields that I have added, what might I be missing?

Thanks

Joe

Any extension's language file only translates the core text, but you can add it quite easily yourself to the language file(s) you want it translated in.

Thanks for the fast reply!

When you say the 'core' files you lose me.

What I did was go to the CB Field Manager and added a field called Language Preference. It is a Radio group with 3 options.

1 English
2 Spanish
3 Portuguese

The idea is to collect what language the user would like to receive their emails in.

However, when I go to:

/public_html/components/com_comprofiler/plugin/language/default_language

There is no evidence that the file has been changed. Where do these additional 'phrases' get stored?

For example I need to provide translations for:

- Preferred Language
- English
- Spanish
- Portuguese

In what file do I place these translations and how do I define them?

Thanks again,

Joe
