Does the tab control loads the contents of ALL it's tabs when a profile is shown? Perhaps an option to load tab contents only when the tab is clicked could reduce server load. I dont usually click every tab on a CB profile when I visit one. Or, maybe it works this way already.

Yes it does. To make it load them as needed would require either ajax or loading each tab as separate page. The former is not that widely supported and latter ends up creating more traffic since menus and all the other stuf get reloaded as well.
